Japanese Brand Fujitaka And ASICS Link Up For A GEL-NYC Collaboration

ASICS is set to expand on its already impressive list of collaborators in 2023. Having already worked with names such as Dime, Above The Clouds, Bodega, and more, they’re now set to team up with fellow Japanese brand Fujitaka, to breathe new life into the GEL-NYC.

Fujitaka is a luxury towel manufacturer based in Imabari, Japan’s Shikoku Island. This collaboration between the Japanese duo focuses on bringing an eco-friendly approach to the GEL-NYC, by using leftover thread to craft the pair’s shoelaces, embroidery details, and other accents. The Fujitaka x ASICS GEL-NYC features a “French Blue” and “Grand Shark” colorway, allowing the towel components to be the main attraction. The GEL cushioning on the underfoot is also covered in a dark shade, while the accompanying foam, rubber, and stability structures are coated in shades of off-white.

The Fujitaka x ASICS GEL-NYC is set to be released in Japan on the 6th of October. However, a global release is set to arrive at a later date. Stay tuned for more info!
