Over the past few years, the New Balance 550 has been one of the most popular silhouettes around, mostly due to its sleek, retro design but also because of its very fair price point. We’ve seen a number of different variations and collaborations on the 550, and now, New Balance pays homage to Boston College with its very own colorway.
Back in 2021, Boston College inked a 10-year deal with New Balance, becoming the first Power Five school to be endorsed by the Boston-based brand. This brand-new colorway of the New Balance 550 features a clean red and gold color palette, which is synonymous with the private institution. Combined with a clean white upper and full leather construction.
This New Balance 550 swaps out the NB branding on the tongue for Boston College’s logo, whilst the iconic “N” logo on the sidewall is covered in the vibrant red hue that we mentioned earlier. Finally, Boston College logos also feature on the insole, which is also covered in red, and a number of greyscale tones can be located on the suede and mesh heel counter.
