New York City-based skateboarding brand Supreme is a long-time collaborator with Nike’s Skateboarding department, single-handedly turning skate sneakers into sought-after hype pieces during the 2000s.
After working with Nike on several silhouettes over the seasons, it is time to do what they do best: skate shoes. The collaboration includes a third partner, Queens-based artist Rammellzee, including his art on the upper of the Nike SB Dunk High and Nike SB Dunk Low.
The eye-catching art on the sneaker shows Rammellzee’s iconic Afrofuturism and why he is one of NYC’s most influential artists. Crafted with a blend of textile and leather on the upper, each shoe sports multi-colored artwork as well as a gum rubber outsole. The shoe features a “SUPREME” dubrae and a “WORLD FAMOUS” tag. After the initial release of the collaboration via Dover Street Market, the pair of Supreme Dunks is set to be launched via Supreme directly on August 31st.
