LeBron James’ On-Court Sneaker Moments

In recent history, LeBron James has been climbing the ladder in countless NBA statistics, but one is definitely “the one,” catching Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA scoring title. An achievement no one ever thought to be done is breaking that record, but in last night’s game, THE KING did it. In a tough loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the La Lakers star scored 38 points, and with that, he has now accumulated 38390 Points in his 20-season-strong career. In celebration of James’ incredible night, we look at some of his most iconic sneaker moments, some of which are still available at SNS.

Nike LeBron II “USA”

When Lebron was playing for the US national team in the Olympics, he debuted his then-signature sneaker’s “USA” colorway. In celebration of LeBron’s 20th NBA anniversary, Nike has retroed the colorway James wore famously in the Olympics 2004 in Athens.

Nike LeBron XX “Christmas”

NBA Christmas games have a long tradition. Like Boxing Day in the UK, the NBA has been matching up the best and most hyped teams during the annual Christmas celebration for people to sit back, relax, and enjoy a full day of good basketball. And with that being said, all the players having the honor to play will probably debut a new colorway of their own sneaker. One of them is LeBron James. Like Kobe Bryant, LeBron has been embracing the holidays with fun colorways, like last year’s “Christmas” edition that takes loose inspiration from the Grinch. Equipped with ultra-cushioning, the shoe features a forefoot Zoom Air unit and an airy, breathable fabric on the upper.

Nike LeBron II “Maccabi”

The Nike LeBron II was released in 2004 on November 6. During a pre-season game against Maccabi Tel Aviv, LeBron debuted a new colorway called “Maccabi.” The white silhouette is made with leather and gold mesh-like underlays on the upper with a midfoot strap that sports Lebron’s original LJ logo.

Nike LeBron IX “Bing Bang”

The Nike LeBron 9, James’ 9th signature sneaker, returned 10 years after it first debuted during NBA All-Star Weekend in the “Big Bang” colorway. Guarding the likes of Kobe, the explosive orange upper is matched with a glow-in-the-dark outsole and nods to the City of Orlando, home of the All-Star Weekend back in 2012.

Nike LeBron 9 Low ”Palmer”

During All-Star Game 2022, Lebron switched shoes to introduce the Nike LeBron 9 Low “Reverse LeBronald Palmer.” Inspired by his time playing for the Miami Heat and referencing the famous Arnold Palmer drink, a half-lemonade and half-iced tea, consumed by the golf player with the same name.

LeBron’s unreleased pink Nike LeBron 20

In the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the record-breaking game of Lakers star Lebron James, he became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer wearing an unreleased pair of pink Lebron XXs. Not much is known about the eye-catching colorway, but when he took a step-back fadeaway with 10.9 seconds remaining in the third quarter to score his 38,388 NBA point, Nike founder Phil Knight for sure was happy to see his companion make a buzz with his footwear choice.
