With the release of Timothée Chalamet’s latest film, “Wonka,” fast approaching, the 27-year-old actor revealed in an interview with Complex that Nike gave him the chance to work on his very own Dunk, which features a bold design inspired by his character’s look in the movie.
The bad news is that there will only be five pairs available of this special collab between Timothée and Nike, although fans of the film do have a slight chance of winning a pair. Fans have the opportunity to submit videos of their Wonka-inspired creations to enter a special giveaway, where five lucky people will be gifted pairs of the Nike Dunk. As we previously mentioned, the Dunk’s design is heavily inspired by Chalamet’s character in the movie. The actor even took Wonka’s jacket to Nike’s campus in Beaverton, Oregon to provide a reference point during the design process. Timothée himself is extremely excited about this collab, stating that his creation is “unlike any pair of Dunks I’ve ever seen,” and also says that old Nike Dunks such as the “What The Dunk” were extra points of reference. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a “Wonka” inspired Dunk, as Nike released the “Oompa Loompa” SB Dunk back in 2005 when the original film was released.
