After recently opening their first flagship store in the Lower East Side of New York City, Awake NY shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, as images have surfaced of an “Air Ship” collab with Jordan Brand.
The Jordan Air Ship has been on hiatus since its release back in 1984, until this year. It’s made a strong comeback in 2023 with the release of some OG colourways, and now Awake NY are putting their spin on the retro sneaker that was originally intended to be an update on the iconic Air Force 1.
From the pictures we’ve seen, the Air Ship will feature a smooth white leather upper, the right shoe is accented in Gym Red, while the left features Game Royal blue. Awakes’ branding features next to the metallic Swoosh in the form of a stitched “A”, whilst the OG vibes are clear to see with a metal Jumpman Hang Tag attached to the top eyelet. Finally, a sail coloured midsole completes the look, giving this Air Ship a true 1984 feel.
