Recently we have reported about the history of the Nike Mac Attack, a tennis sneaker endorsed by John McEnroe, who showed up in his semi-signature sneaker to the court to serve some of his opponent’s style aces with ease. Originally released in 1984. The Mac Attack had a short life and hasn’t been retroed.

While we highly anticipate the retro release of the original pair as well as the Social Status collaboration, which both are happening in the near future, the next big thing is that Travis Scott has given the OG his own spin. Known for adding “his” reversed Swoosh to the sneaker of choice, Houston-rapper Travis Scott is known for breaking classic silhouettes into a new space. The Nike Mac Attack seems to be the perfect pair for that. A few days ago, Travis hit the stage with an unseen pair of Travis Scott x Nike Mac Attacks that keeps the original colors but flips the Swoosh around, adding the signature Swoosh to an ‘80s tennis sneaker classic. The retro shoe has a mesh construction with leather overlays, just like the OG pair featuring a mid-height cut, but nothing more has been revealed about the shoe.
