Born and raised in Harlem, singer-songwriter-actress-designer and overall multi-talent Teyana Taylor can do it all. And now, Taylor is adding another milestone to her already impressive career; her very own Air Jordan 1 collaboration.
Her hometown is the main source of inspiration behind this collaboration, with “Gym Red” used throughout the colorway to the “A ROSE FROM HARLEM” text hidden along the backside of the ankle flaps. The Swooshes are unlike anything we’ve seen recently on an AJ1, giving us Virgil vibes with a deconstructed, slightly off-set black placement. The left shoe prominently displays oversized leather Swooshes in black with zigzag stitching across it, while the right shoe features embroidered Swooshes in red with green embroidery in the shape of a rose’s prickles.
Finally, an oversized rose metallic gold lace dubrae and small “x” or puncture marks can be found on the left foot, and a sail-colored outsole provides a vintage aesthetic to this vibrant, innovative iteration of the iconic Air Jordan 1.
