For the release of the adidas Originals ”Brewery Pack” we wanted to produce our own beer to match with the pack. When we started to look around we found out that Stockholm Brewing Co. was just a stone’s throw for our store so we reached out to them to see if that was possible. And yes, it was! Stockholm Brewing Co. was started by three childhood friends from a suburb northern of Stockholm. The three of them have a different work background but they were all longing for a true local beer brewed with drinkability and heritage in mind. Since they moved into Södermalm the brewery has gained two new brewers bringing experience in both Belgian and English beer tradition. We sat down with Tomas from Stockholm Brewing Co. to talk about their inspiration and the beer that we have produced for our Brewery Pack.
How long have Stockholm Brewing Co. been doing this?
We started home brewing as late as November 2010. But since we enjoyed it so much we decided within three months to set up and start our own proper brewery. So since February 2012 we’ve been available to the public through better restaurants all around Sweden.
What inspires you?
Good beer other flavour experiences. Everything from different morning coffee grinds to that spicy fish taco the other week.
What’s the best time for a beer?
Tell us about the three beers that is created for the shoes.
The Stan Session is the easy going session IPA with a huge hop kick. European malts hitting that copper color balanced with juicy american hops. The Flux Saison is a light, dry refreshing beer with the Belgian tradition and heritage in mind. The thinking mans lager if you will. The Guidance IPA is a take on the first beer we started selling. Higher in alcohol with a fuller body and more hops throughout boil this is the BIG brother of Stan Session.
What do you love about Södermalm?
There’s no place like home! After setting up the brewery in Skanstull the neighbourhood is constantly seeing additions of great places for eating and drinking.
The Guidance IPA, the Stan Session and the Flux Saison will not be available to purchase but follow @Sneakersnstuff on Instagram to find out when and where you will be able to taste it.
