Converse AS-1 Pro – Alexis Sablone’s First Signature Sneaker

There is not much debate around how influential Alexis Sablone has been to skateboarding globally; the architect, designer, and multidisciplinary artist is one of these icons that can do it all and makes it hard to start somewhere because the risk of leaving something groundbreaking out is high.

With a BA from Columbia University, a Masters in Architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a skateboarding legacy that reaches back to the mid-‘90s, Alexis’s CV is unlike any other. As a US Olympic Women’s Skateboard Team member with XGAME gold medals or as Top 10 ranked female skater globally, Alexis continues to break the rules with her first Converse CONS signature shoe, the AS-1 Pro.

The Converse skateboarding shoe was designed by the multitalented skater herself, featuring a newly engineered (cup) outsole that helps increase impact protection while maintaining board feel. Created for on and off-the-board activities, the AS-1 takes inspiration from ‘80s basketball shoes while keeping them lightweight and versatile, featuring the first cup sole in the Converse CONS line. Finished with a visible herringbone outsole and a CX foam sock liner for impact protection and cushioning, the Converse AS-1 Pro is the next stage for Alexis Sablone’s skyrocketing career, a true inspiration for everyone that want’s to not just do one thing but exceed all expectation of what is possible.

The Converse AS-1 Pro will be released globally on May 2 in the green colorway. The red colorway and the black colorway will be released on June 2.
