The hype was real when we released our collaboration earlier this year with our friends from Social Status as part of the adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange program. Only a few people know that the upcoming adidas Consortium UltraBOOST Lux is in fact a Bonus Track of the UltraBOOST by Sneakersnstuff and Social Status. Designing a shoe for adidas is a huge privilege for us and it involves more steps that you could imagine. From mind mapping ideas around the theme of the shoe to the colorway and material searches, everything is constantly evolving. This adidas Consortium UltraBOOST Lux is the result of such process.
Together with Social Status and the adidas Consortium team we played around with materials and colors in the design process. Looking for the right idea to fit our approach of showcasing the transition of sneakers from performance shoes to luxury items. We are proud that adidas saw the strong case in these “B-Sides” and decided to release them anyway. Lucky for all of you this premium silhouette finally got a release date this December. This builds a strong case for how great samples can be and that hidden treasures deserve a second chance.
